Heating System:

Aspen Hollow 4 is equipped with “Nest” thermostats in every room. Settings are generally at 69 degrees when occupied. Please feel free to adjust to your desired temperature. However, please be careful not to set above 75 degrees (and be mindful of children as they are popular gadgets for them to play with). Please set at 62 degrees when leaving at the end of your stay. The system is floor-based radiant heat, so substantial changes in settings may take time to fully acclimate.

Humidity (or the lack thereof):

Each bedroom is equipped with a high-end humidifier. It is recommended that these are used each evening and whenever sleeping, as the mountain air can be very dry... especially for folks from the East Coast. Instructions for use will be located in each room next to the humidifier.

Television and Cable:

Television and surround system is located in middle level family room.

Sonos Wireless Music System:

Aspen Hollow 4 is equipped with a Sonos Wireless Music System. After logging in to the WiFi, access the Sonos App on your mobile device, tablet or laptop and enjoy. Information and instructions (as well as the controller app) can be found at Sonos.com. Speakers are located in the Kitchen, Main Living Room, Family Room, Steins Way Bedroom and Hidden Treasure Bedroom. Speakers can be moved around the home and plugged into any outlet; however, please return all speakers to their original location at the end of your stay.

Fireplaces:

Aspen Hollow 4 is equipped with five fireplaces (two in the main living room, one in the family (TV) room, one in the Steins Way Bedroom and one in the Hidden Treasure Bedroom). To light gas fireplaces, use a match or lighter (located next to the fireplace)

and turn gas on using key. Firewood is located in the garage. Firestarters are located next to wood-burning fireplaces. Please ensure that all fires are extinguished before leaving the home (even for short durations).

Lighting:

There are many lights and light switches throughout the home. Most are labeled. Note that the tan 5-button switches located on each floor affect ambient lighting on all four floors. The top button turns all on. The bottom button turns all off. Please ensure lights are turned off when you are not in the home.

Back Deck, Outdoor Grill, Seating and Firepit:

There is an outdoor gas grill located on the back deck just off the main floor dining room. A lighter can be inserted into the holes on the lower front of the grill before burners are turned on (there is no automatic lighter). In addition, outdoor lounge chairs and a firepit are located on the right end of the back deck, along with a table and chairs on the left side of the back deck. Note that the upper end of the Aspen Hollow loop drive can be accessed from the back deck. This is the quicker path for walking to and from Silver Lake Village and the “outbound” ski access trail. The Hot Tub is also located just off (and is accessible from) the back deck. Even in the winter time, this can be a very pleasant place from which to enjoy the stars, the Aspens and the Fir Trees.

Ski Trail Access:

Access to the “Last Chance” (Blue) and “Silver Dollar” (Green) ski runs at Deer Valley Ski Resort can be found out the garage across the main driveway and down the secondary driveway directly across from the driveway. The ski trail is of moderate difficulty and would be considered a “blue” trail. Walk down the road and to the path that is between the two homes at the end of the road. Access back Aspen Hollow 4 can be found at the top of the “Silver Link” trail and back down to Royal Street where it meets up with the entrance to Double Eagle Townhomes. It is about a block and a half down Royal Street to Aspen Hollow from that spot. Access can also be had by ending the day at Silver Lake Lodge and taking the Free Shuttle two stops to the Stag Lodge stop (where you will be adjacent to the lower entrance to Aspen Hollow) or by walking.

Walk to Silver Lake:

For Skiing, Apres, Dining, Shopping or just for fun, it is a short walk out the back deck and up to Silver Lake Village. Parking is also available next to the Goldener Hirsch for those who would prefer to drive.
